How the self-assessment is scored
These scoring rules describe how this original questionnaire summarizes your answers.
Questions and points
Thirty scored questions cover five areas, with six questions per area. The options score 0 to 3, from Never to Almost always. Five questions are reverse scored as 3 minus the chosen value: D1-5, D2-5, D3-5, D4-5 and D5-5.
Area scores and total
Each area scores 0–18. The five area scores add up to a total of 0–90. Any optional background answers appear in your summary and contribute no points.
Provisional result ranges
These descriptions summarize patterns in the answers. They are design rules pending clinical validation.
- 0–29 points. Fewer traits reported.
- 30–49 points. Elevated traits reported.
- 50–90 points with at least three areas at 9 or above. Many traits reported across areas.
- 50–60 points with fewer than three areas at 9 or above. High score with a concentrated pattern.
Using the summary
Look at the areas separately and consider your everyday examples. The result does not estimate the probability of autism or produce an ADOS-2 score.
